Black Lives Matter - what can we do?

"Racism is not getting worse, it's getting filmed" - Will Smith.

Simply being "not racist" is not enough. If you're reading this, you're here to find out what more you can do to support the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and our black brothers and sisters.

The Moon Child is owned by a white female, and quite frankly, I was born privileged. I have never had to endure racism, I have never fought the battles that are being tirelessly fought every second of every day by all minorities.

And you know what... I took it for granted. But now, I understand that I, WE need to do more. My whole life, I have been influenced by black music, fashion, friends, lovers. But i've never dealt with the hardships.

And as Amanda Seales once said, "You cannot enjoy the rhythm and ignore the blues".

Below is a link on ways that we can support the Black Lives Matter movement. From educating ourselves on systematic racism, signing petitions and donating whatever we can. If you're in a position where you can't donate anything, then there are resources on how to donate without spending money.
